When a customer in the educational resource industry needed a manufacturing partner to produce a custom metal cradle, they contacted our team at Apex Wire Products Co., Inc. We work with a diverse array of customers to provide unique round and flat wire fabrications in a range of production volumes. The horizon cradle highlighted here is constructed from round edge flat wire. The cradle houses a map and is used as a teaching tool.

To create the cradle, 0.094″ thick, 0.5″ wide flat wire is cut on a punch press and then rolled or formed using a press brake. We offer a variety of manual and CNC fabrication processes that allow us to efficiently produce a wide range of components and assemblies. The final assembly is welded using a jig to ensure repeatability before being chrome plated. Visual and dimension inspection is performed throughout the process to verify conformance to all specified standards and tolerances. We manufacture approximately 400 to 800 of these horizon cradles per run, with a standard lead time of 3 to 4 weeks. For additional details regarding this custom flat wire forming project, see the table below or contact us directly.
